Your First Choice for the Care of Your Child
Annie’s ELC has been open since 2007. We started with one child and are now licensed for 150 children (including school age). Through the years we have seen lots of changes and growth, but we still pride ourselves on our family atmosphere where the teachers know every child’s name and families are welcome. We love seeing the children grow and learn through the years.
Looking for a quality program for your child? Look no further—we are Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) EXCELS Level 2. We are continuing to work to achieve higher levels. Our staff is required to have First Aid and CPR qualifications and many are trained in medication administration. Our lead teachers are constantly learning about the newest developments in early childhood education. Approximately half of our lead teachers have received MSDE Credentialing at Level 2 or higher. These teachers have surpassed the minimum requirements set by the state and continue to complete training in 6 core of knowledge areas.
Communication between center staff and families is extremely important. Families are able to speak with their child’s teacher at drop-off or pick-up. In addition, we use the brightwheel app to provide information about your child’s day in our classrooms for children ages 6 weeks to PreK. Families are able to send messages to their child’s teachers as well as receive updates, pictures and messages from the teachers. Families are welcome to call during nap time to speak with their child’s teacher or they may set up a conference. Conferences are held twice a year, but families or teachers may request one at any time. Some classrooms use a communication book to communicate with families. This provides an opportunity for families to leave a note for their child’s teacher or the teacher to leave a note for the family.
Stop by for a Tour
We encourage families to tour our facility. Please call or email to set up a convenient time to visit our classrooms.
We welcome visitors to Annie’s ELC. Stop by to have lunch with your child or visit during one of our many family events throughout the year. Teachers set up “family investigation” nights where families and children participate in activities that go along with our curriculum. The family investigation activities help families learn about what the children have been working on while at Annie’s. We hold events for holidays and classrooms sponsor parties throughout the year. We encourage families to share their traditions and culture with us!
